Engr Galla Eulogizes Zaar Elites, Says TetFund Boss, Father To Zaar Nation

The National President of Zaar Development Association (ZDA), Engineer Isua Galla has commended the effort of Zaar elites towards ensuring peace and unity among Zaar/Sayawa sons and daughters across Nigeria and beyond.

Engineer Isua Galla gave the commendation while delivering his keynote address during the 2021 Annual cultural festival of Zaar people in Bauchi state at the weekend in Tafawa Balewa Central Primary school.

The ZDA President while describing the TetFund Executive Secretary, Professor Sulaiman Elias Bogoro as a father to the Zaar Nation, noted that his contribution towards nation building has stood Zaar people except when it comes to selfless service.

“Worthy of recognition is our very owned Professor Sulaiman Elias Bogoro, the Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TetFund), indeed you are a father to the Zaar Nation. Our political icon, Rt Honourable Yakubu Dogara, we are proud of you and this is why we featured you today as the most Zaar notable Zaar sons and daughters”, he said.

Galla who decried the security situation in the country coupled with the economic hardship being faced by Nigerians said despite such challenges God has made it possible for the Zaar people to continue waxing stronger.

The ZDA President said that the Zaar annual cultural festival has come to occupy a highly coveted place in the Nigeria Culture and tourism industry towards the development of Zaar/Sayawa ethnic group, Bauchi state and Nigeria as a whole.

“It is important to recognize the contribution of the governor of our dear state towards the development of Zaar people which has earned him so much respect and will be receiving an award of the ‘Zaar Most Friendly Governor”, he pointed out.

He said that the Governor has since assumption of office in May 2019, showed so much concern by appointing several Zaar sons and daughters into various positions in his administration apart from executing projects and programs that have a direct bearing on the lives of his people.

Engineer Galla re-echoed the demand for the actualization of the long agitated Zaar Chiefdom and the appeal for the relocation of Tafawa Balewa Local government headquarters from Bununu back to its constitutional place in Tafawa Balewa town.

According to him, the appeal for government to act on the two issues was long overdue, adding that since the assumption of office as the president of the association, a lot of positive changes has been made, particularly, with regard to a peaceful coexistence of Zaar people with other ethnic groups.

“We have succeeded in restructuring the ZDA which has in turn led to further cementing the relationship between Zaar people and other Communities living in Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro Local government areas of Bauchi state”, he said.

While declaring the festival open, the Gung Zaar select, Air Commodore Ishaku Komo, urged Za’ar sons and daughters to always love and support one another in order to succeed in life.

The monarch challenged his subjects to always engage in legitimate businesses and avoid engaging in questionable ventures.

On his part, the Ponzi Kadarko, Chief Lot Nden while speaking advised the Zaar people to intensify lobbying the government in order to get their demands met.

The Ponzi of Kadarko while describing Sayawa people as peace lovers, said in his case, his people had to approach the Plateau state government last year before Governor Simon Lalong appointed him and handed him over the staff of Office.

Our Correspondent reports that Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state was presented with the “Most Zaar Friendly Governor” award.

During the occasion, a minute silence was observed in honour of Pastor Joshua, Maman Rifkatu who were murdered in cold blood in their farms and of recent, One Mrs Mary Alhamdu who was attacked while coming back from her farm and is receiving treatment at the hospital as well as the mother-in-law to Bauchi Governor who died recently after a protracted illness.
