Ex-police Officer, 2 Others Killed in Plateau

Maham Maram, a former police officer and two other persons were murdered on Sunday after gun-wielding men invaded Maiyanga community in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The Sunday night attack also got two other people injured, according to Punch. Bulus Sule, a resident of the community stated that the injured persons had been taken to the hospital for treatment.

“It was last (Sunday) night that the gunmen came and attacked the people in Maiyanga community,” said Sule, adding they killed three persons and two others sustained injuries.

Security agents arrived at the community hours after the terrorists had wreaked havoc, according to another resident identified as Ilya.

Alabo Alfred, spokesman for Plateau Police Command confirmed the attack, claiming there are plans to arrest the assailants.

His words: “There was an attack on the village last night and from the report I received, three people were killed while two others were injured and are responding to treatment.

“Our men have been sent to the village with assistance from soldiers and they are combing everywhere in the bush searching for those who carried out the attack.

“We will make sure that we get the people responsible for the killing. All we want from the public is timely information so that we can take action immediately in this kind of situation.”
