Farouq Mustpha Dumps APC, Sets Eyes On Becoming Next Bauchi Deputy Gov

Hon Farouq Mustapha, has dumped the All Progressives Congress, APC a few days after Air Vice Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar (retired) defeated him at the party’s 2023 governorship primaries.

The decision of Hon Farouq, a loyalist to Minister of Education Malam Adamu Adamu, is coming at a time when he is tipped to be selected as Governor Bala Mohammed’s running mate in the forthcoming 2023 governorship elections in Bauchi State. However, Bala, the 2023 governorship flagbearer of the PDP, cannot pick Farouq except if he decamped to the PDP.

A source close to Hon Farouq told this medium that the Katagum-based politician would be heading to the PDP in the coming days, a move that will prepare the ground for him to pick as Bala’s running mate.

“It is on this premise that I forward to you my resignation as a member of the effective today 10th June 2022,” Farouq Mustapha wrote in a letter to APC Chairman Nasarawa B Kasuwa, Azare, Katagum local government.
