Father, 8 Others Accused of Killing 6-Year-Old Boy for Money Ritual in Gombe

The Gombe state Police command has confirmed the arrest of 8 persons, including the father of the victim, over alleged conspiracy, abduction, and murder of a six-year-old for money ritual in Gombe.

The deceased, Muhammad Ibrahim Bulama of Bura Bunga village in Bojude, Kwami local government area of Gombe, was reportedly slain in February by one Magaji Adamu and dismembered his body.

According to the Police statement signed by the spokesperson of the command, ASP Buhari Abdullahi, the suspects, who confessed to the crime, had also fingered the father of the victim identified as Gimba. The father is currently at large.

The statement read in part: “Sometime in mid-February 2025, the grandfather of the deceased discovered that the boy had not slept in the house. His absence sparked immediate concern and a search commenced. 

“Sadly, the whereabouts of the child remained unknown not until on the 18th April 2025 at about 1100hrs, when a formal complaint was lodged by one Ibrahim Bulama, grandfather of the deceased, at Bajude Divisional Police Headquarters. Where two (2) suspect were arrested thereafter transferred to Anti kidnapping squad for further investigation.

“Acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad swung into action and successfully arrested additional six (6) suspects in connection with the heinous crime.”

The suspects include Magaji Adamu (Wazam), 45, Babayo Musa, 18, Jibrin Muhammad (Alias Ya’Haji), 40, Usman Abubakar Khalla, 37, Sadam Umaru, 28, Idris Dayyabu, 45, Abdulrauf Hussaini, 33 and Isiyaku Muhammad, 39.

The statement noted that the investigation is still ongoing to ensure justice while urging residents to remain vigilant and keep cooperating with security agencies.
