Police personnel in Bauchi have arrested Mamuda Abubakar, a 30-year-old resident of Abbo, Chinkani ward of Gamawa local government area of Bauchi State for allegedly chaining his son Adamu Mamuda in their residence.
Spokesperson of Bauchi Police Command, Ahmed Wakil disclosed this in a statement made available to reporters in Bauchi on Monday.
He said the child was successfully rescued following mobilisation of a team of detectives to the scene.
“The suspect, one Mamuda Abubakar, was arrested and is currently under investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Bauchi.

“The Bauchi State Police Command remains committed to the protection of all citizens, especially vulnerable children.
“We urge the public to report any incidents of abuse or maltreatment to the nearest police station,” the statement read in some parts.
Wakil said the suspect would be charged to court after completion of necessary police investigations.
