FCT Polls: Why AMAC Victory Is A Good Signal For 2023 – PDP

  • The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described its in the concluded Abuja Municipal Council (AMAC) polls in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as a sign of victory for the 2023 general elections.

PDP National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, stated this on Sunday in a statement he personally signed, stressing that the victory in the FCT area council election would be replicated in the forthcoming Osun and Ekiti states governors’ elections.

“What we have just achieved in Abuja, the seat of power, will be replicated in Ekiti and Osun states later this year, culminating in our take-over of power at the centre next year, to usher in a better, more prosperous, and secure Nigeria.

He said PDP is back to rescue Nigeria from its current challenges, maintained that the rescue begins from the seat of power in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

Mr. Ayu said the victory of the PDP under his watch as the Chairman signposts the party back to winning ways and promises of a better Nigeria.

According to results of the poll declared by INEC on Sunday, AMAC’s PDP candidate, Christopher Zakka polled 19,302 votes to defeat his closet rival Murtala Usman of the APC, who polled 13,240 votes.

Bwari and Kuje council areas were also clinched by the PDP while the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared winner of the chairmanship seat in Gwagwalada, Kwali and Abaji.
