“Today is the happiest day for you because as students here, you will start to have a place for self-discovery, not just your area of study, but also in skills acquisition, through our well prepared entrepreneurial development centre in conjunction with the various academic departments.

“While congratulating the matriculating students, I must be quick to tell you that the day is not only about celebrations, but it is a day for solicitude, reflection and T
thanksgiving for the opportunity God Almighty provided for you of gaining admission into the Polytechnic,” he said.

The Rector said as part of its reputation for academic excellence and character moulding, the polytechnic management will not be allowed to be compromised by actions or inactions of either staff or students no matter how highly placed they are.

Architect Gumau used the medium to appeal to the Federal Government to take charge of the provision of security to all the federal tertiary institutions as it has proven to be impossible for the institutions to pay for security and cleaning services from their meagre internally generated revenue.
