Fed Poly Bauchi Partners ATBU To Deepen Engineering Education In Northeast

The Federal Polytechnic Bauchi has vowed to offer its quota to rebuild the northeastern part of the country following years of insurgency in the region through engineering education in partnership with Abubakar Tafawabalewa university Bauchi, ATBU.

The Polytechnic was recently ranked fourth best Polytechnic in Nigeria and first in the Northeast. ATBU on the other end is a technology-based university.

Architect Sunusi Waziri Gumau, Rector of the polytechnic said this during the 2021/2022 matriculation of the second set of its degree students in affiliation with the ATBU.

The Rector said the polytechnic will ensure that all modalities needed to teach and learn engineering related courses are on ground in the polytechnic.

He said Bauchi state and the northeast subregion of the country needed engineering education badly considering the development indices of the region and the recent activities of insurgents in the region.

“This affiliation with respect to this Federal Polytechnic and Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University is done specifically to give more avenues for our youth’s teeming population in order to have access to education for those who have the basic requirements.

“With this kind of affiliation, you can give an avenue for a teeming population to get quality education. I am happy with this kind of synergy.

 “This is the fundamental reason why we have this synergy between the university and us,” the Rector said.

Professor Muhammad Abdul’azez, Vice-Chancellor of ATBU warned the students to respect the modi operandi of the polytechnic, adding that anyone found wanting will be shown the exit door.

The Vice-Chancellor represented by the Chairman of ATBU Central Screening Committee Professor Mansur Usman Malunfashi said the university totally abhors social vices, exam malpractice and nudity.

“Our duty here is not only to give you access to knowledge but also to help in moulding your character so that you become responsible citizens of our nation,” he said.
