Fedpoly Bauchi Begins Degree In Mass Communication, Others

The Federal Polytechnic Bauchi (FPTB) has perfected all the necessary structures, facilities and manpower required to run a degree programme in Mass Communication in partnership with University of Maiduguri.

Similarly, the Polytechnic will offer degrees in Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting and Banking and Finance.

Professor Liman Tukur, Vice Chancellor University of Maiduguri said this when he led a team from the University to the Polytechnic to perfect the process of affiliation through resource verification, which is one of the requirements for approval to run degree programmes by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Represented by the Vice Chancellor of Academic Services of the University, Professor Sa’idu Baba, the Vice Chancellor applauded the Management of FPTB for having in place all the necessary structures, workshops and requisite manpower needed to train students at the degree level.

He said with what they saw on the ground, they were confident that the National Universities Commission (NUC), which is the approving authority for degree programmes, would grant the Polytechnic the right to run degree programmes.

Speaking, Sani Usman, Rector of the Polytechnic appreciated the Management of the University of Maiduguri for agreeing to partner with the Institution to provide a means of absorbing the youths off the streets and giving them a sense of belonging.

He said preparatory to the mounting of the affiliated programmes, the entire Polytechnic was undergoing general internet connectivity installations and assured them that all areas of observation shall be looked into to meet the National Universities Commission’s requirements.

WikkiTimes recalls that the Polytechnic runs degree programmes in engineering and environmental courses in affiliation with the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi.
