Barira Adam, a final-year National Diploma student of Mass Communication at the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, died Thursday night after a brief illness at the female hostel of the institution.
WikkiTimes reports that Barira, who was less than a month from starting her final exams, died while recovering from a protracted illness.
Similarly, Barira had on the fateful Thursday morning posted her picture on her WhatsApp status with the caption, “It’s true, better days are coming very soon.”
According to her mate, who pleaded for anonymity, she washed her clothes and had lunch hours before her death.
They described her as a dedicated student committed to achieving academic excellence.
Management of the Polytechnic confirmed her death in a post on the Official Facebook page of the institution.
“With a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Allah, the Management of the Polytechnic announced the passing away of an ND II Mass Communication Student, Ms. BARIRA Adam.
“She died late evening of Thursday, 11th September 2025, after a brief illness,” the Polytechnic said.
Meanwhile, Rector, Alh. Sani Usman expressed heartfelt condolences to her immediate family, her course mates, the Mass Communication Department and friends.
