Gambarou, the second market in Maiduguri metropolis, Borno State, has been razed.
The cause of the fire has not been ascertained at press time. But firefighters were still battling to put it out.
This is coming five months after a similar night fire razed part of the international market in March 2023.
An eyewitness told Daily Truat that the fire broke out from the shops of spices and grains sellers section of the market.
He said that security operatives had been deployed to the market to avoid stealing of property.
