A firestorm suspected to be triggered by arson has burnt down 15 houses in Rafin Ciyawa of Ningi local government area of Bauchi State.
The arson also destroyed foods times worth millions of naira.
According to locals, the inferno occurred in trenches at a time no one expects it nor can pinpoint the cause of the flames.
Malam Dahiru Isah, the Village Head of Rafin Ciyawa, said that there wasn’t a source of fire close to the houses, a development that is further confirming arson to be the cause of the ‘mysterious firestorm.’
The Village Head called on wealthy individuals and governments at all levels to come to their aid.
Albarka Radio reports that there was no injury or loss of life as a result of the tragic incident.
Mahmud Hassan Tabla, Chairman Ningi local government, said that the council is doing everything possible to support the victims of the fire disaster.
