Five Months After, Bandits Release Girls Kidnapped from Zamfara

Five abducted girls and children of the former Accountant General of Zamfara state have regained freedom from their abductors seven months after they were kidnapped.

WikkiTimes had reported how the terrorist in a video released in October vowed to recruit the girls should certain agreements were not made. In the video, they hung sophisticated weapons on the captives’ necks.

The girls were kidnapped on June 5 when the bandits invaded Furfuri town of Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State. They were kidnapped alongside other persons.

According to Abdul Balarabe, a journalist based in Zamfara, the girls regained freedom yesterday.

Mohammed Shehu, spokesman for Zamfara Police Command, was not available for comment at press time.
