For Failing To Raise N30 Million ‘Farm Permit’, Bandits Evict Zamfara Residents 

On Saturday, bandits displaced the residents of Kairu community In Bukuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State for failing to raise N30 million which would enable them to farm uninterrupted. 

According to HumAngle, Dogo Gudale’s bandits’ faction, a terror kidnap kingpin issued a three-day ultimatum to the villagers. The bandits’ leader delivered the message through Isuhu Jauga, a resident of the affected community kidnapped alongside five others.

WikkiTimes learned that Jauga was released purposely to deliver the message “verbally” on May 18, 2022.

“About seven of Gudale’s members came to us on Saturday at about 12 p.m. dropping some warnings to us that we have to make that payment of N30 million cash in order to free our community and other neighbouring settlements,” Isuhu Jauga narrated. “The group released me to convey this message, and threatened that they will destroy our soils, burn down our houses and take over our village.”

Also, five persons were on May 11, 2022, kidnapped in relation to the demand. Danladi Hwatsa, a 34-year-old resident listed the abducted persons to include: Danlami Wulli, Isuhun Guntu, Chede Basullube, Bello Daji, and DanHafsi.

The residents said they have reported the issue to the appropriate authority including Zamfara State House of Assembly, but nothing significant has been done.
