For Invading Kwara Varsity Female Hostel, Police Nab Armed Suspects

Police in Kwara State have arrested three suspects for allegedly intruding into the female hostel of the Kwara State University Malete.

WikkiTimes gathered that the armed men robbed the students of their valuable belongings including electronics.

Three female students of the university reported the incident to the management and the police which led to the arrest of the suspects.

Kwara State Police Command in a statement signed by Okasanmi Ajayi on Sunday said the gang leader identified as Ridwan Abdulfatai, 20, and his accomplices Ridwan Akorede, 25, and Aliyu Abubakar, 25 have been arrested.

He said that leader of the gang gained notoriety for going to jail having been jailed severally for various crimes.

The Police recovered a handmade gun, fridge, knife, charms, 11 power-generating sets, a standing fan and a pumping machine.

Other items recovered from the suspects include 19 iPhone six, three iPhone 11, 16 iPhone six plus, 5 iPhone XR and other models of handsets numbering 87 as well as 10 laptops and two television sets.

In 2021, police in Kwara rescued a kidnapped 300-level female student of the Department of Mass Communication at Kwara State University after spending days in the den of her abductors.

In another arrest, Kwara police arrested a young female ritualist who appeared to be mentally distorted with a stackcash of over N166,000 in her possession.
