For Not Able To Provide Food, Adamawa Woman Kills Husband

Caroline Barka, a 20-year-old married woman in Madagali of Adamawa State, has allegedly stabbed her husband, Dauda Barka, to death for not being able to cater for the food and other needs of the family.

Reports indicate that the incident happened after Mr Dauda returned home Friday night drunk and fell on his two-year-old daughter who was deeply asleep.

SP Sulaiman Nguroje, Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident, saying that the suspect has already been in the police net after a resident of Madagali tipped the police about the incident.

“The accused, Caroline Barka of Angwan Tamiya in Madagali local government, met her husband Dauda Barka after a disagreement between them.

“After the deceased came back home drunk, he fell on their two-year-old daughter sleeping on the bed.

“ This reason angered the wife who disapproved of his frequent drunk habit, especially at night and also by not providing the daily necessities of the house as a husband, this led to a confrontation between her and the which led to her stabbing him.

“ As a result of this the deceased fainted and he was taken to hospital where he was certified death,” Nguroje sad.
