One Salisu Aliyu, a 25-year-old Bauchi resident has been sentenced to 15 months imprisonment for stealing a fan from Dass Park mosque.
The convict agreed to have committed the offence.
LEADERSHIP reports that Barrister Mukhtar Adamu Bellos, the presiding judge of Bauchi Shari’ah court II gave the verdict after examination of evidence in the case.

The judge ruled that the imprisonment is with a fine option of N30,000 and 30 lashes of cane in the court.
In another judgment, Mukhtar sentenced one Abduljalal Sadiq to seven months imprisonment for stealing a wheelbarrow. The judge said the convict had an option of paying N7,000 and 12 lashes before the court.
Abduljala admitted to having stolen the wheelbarrow and sold it out to metal collectors.
