Former Minister of Justice and ICJ Judge, Bola Ajibola, Passes Away At 89

The former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Bola Ajibola, passed away at the age of 89, according to a family source who confirmed his death to TheCable.

The former minister died in the early hours of Sunday, as stated by the family source who expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for his life.

Ajibola served as the minister of justice from 1985 to 1991 under the military government of Ibrahim Babangida, and from 1991 to 1994, he was a judge of the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Netherlands.

He also served as the high commissioner of Nigeria to the United Kingdom from 1999 to 2002 and had a one-year tenure as the president of the Nigerian Bar Association.

Ajibola was also known for founding Crescent University in Abeokuta, Ogun state. His wife, Olufunmilayo, had passed away seven years ago in London.
