Foundation Offers Medical Outreach To 3,000 Bauchi Vulnerable People

In an effort to ease the burden of economic hardship on the underprivileged people, Chigari Foundation, a pet project of minister of health and social welfare, Professor Ali Pate, has launched a three-day medical outreach targeting approximately 3,000 indigents in Bauchi.

WikkiTimes reports that the initiative aims to provide essential medical services to those most affected by the country’s ongoing economic challenges.

At the official kickoff event, the Technical Assistant to the Minister, Dr Ashiru Abubakar said that the outreach would offer a range of critical health services, including 100 pediatric and gynecological consultations and surgeries.

He added that notably, 30 cataract extractions are scheduled, alongside the distribution of reading glasses to over 50 patients, contingent on available resources.

Dr Abubakar said the outreach is a collaborative effort involving the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and various professional organizations.

Speaking, Chairman of MMA Bauchi chapter, Dr. Yusuf Bappa, said that the outreach builds upon previous efforts in ten local government areas, aimed at addressing health issues stemming from recent flood disasters.

He said the initiative not only seeks to treat ailments but also aims to educate and empower the community regarding their health needs
