Dino Melaye, a former senator representing Kogi West senatorial district, has jeered the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential flagbearer, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, referencing his age and health status.
The former lawmaker disclosed this in a less than two minutes video posted on his Facebook wall while drumming support for Atiku Abubakar, who clinched the presidential ticket of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
“God almighty will deliver us from APC,” Melaye prayed. “I mean you can not be shaking and want to preside over a country that is shaking. You cannot be unwell and preside over a country that is very unwell.”

Nigeria, according to him “ is too complicated a country” and “too unique a country to be left in a hands of one that is not very stable, that [sic] is not very okay.”
“We cannot graduate from Sai Baba to Sai Kaka,” he protested. “No! We will not allow that to happen. We are already frustrated with Sai Baba. You want us to move to Sai Kaka which means from father to grandfather. No to sai Kaka, Atiku is the answer.”
Atiku Is Five Years Older Than Tinubu
Even though Tinubu’s age is being questioned, his opponent, according to searches is five years older than him.
Sometimes in January, there were breaches on Tinubu’s Wikipedia details regarding his age in relation to his daughter’s age, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo. By that time, Tinubu was 69-year-old, just nine years ahead of Folashade, according to information available to the public.
Prior to this, there were multiple changes on the duo Wikipedia pages. Between October 2020 and December 2021, Folashade’s age was twice altered. The first excluded her age, while the second edit pegged the age difference between Tinubu and Folashade at 24.

However, as the 2023 general election draws nearer amid the age discrepancies, Folashade’s paternal name was changed from Tinubu to ‘HE Niran Okunnu’’ with 20 years age difference between Okunnu and Folashade.
A few hours later, Okunnu’s name was replaced with Tinubu — showing Folashade’s original paternity — but with no further breach of the ages. That is, Tinubu was born in 1942 and his daughter, in 1962.
This was contrary to what was found on Tinubu’s page. On his page, his birth year was 1952. When Folashade’s age is compared with her father’s, the interval is 10 years.
Health wise, Melaye may be accurate but his submission is subjected to checks when it comes to the age of the political mafias (Tinubu and Atiku).
