FUD Tidies Security, Hires 55 Hunters To Patrol Camus

The Federal University Dutse, FUD, has said that it has approved the hiring of over 55 hunters to assist the security division of the university in patrolling the campus at night.

Vice-Chancellor FUD, Professor Abdulkareem Sabo Mohammed disclosed this to reporters in Dutse.

He explained that the 55 hunters will be hired from the Jigawa State branch of the Nigerian Hunters Council to enhance the security capabilities of the university.

Professor Abdulkarim said that the Chief Security Officer of the university, Colonel Abubakar Sidique(Rtd) brought up the idea, adding that, the management bought into it because of the complex security problems facing the country at the moment.

He said that the hunters in conjunction with FUD security and the Nigeria Police conduct a daily joint patrol of the campus at night while also complimenting their security in other areas.

The VC said the university needs the services of the hunters because of their knowledge of the community and their ruggedness.

He said the hunters had undergone 3 weeks of training by the University security division before deploying them to the field.

Professor Abdulkareem Sabo said those who display exceptional skills and commitment among them would be rewarded.

He, therefore, called on staff and students to cooperate with the security division.
