Ganduje Lauds Judiciary Over Kano Tribunal Outcome

Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and immediate past governor of Kano State, has applauded the outcome of the Kano State Governorship Petition Tribunal which gave the party’s candidate Nasir Yusuf Gawuna over Governor Abba Yusuf of New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP).

Wikkitimes reports that the tribunal declared Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna of the APC as the winner of the election, sacking Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who was earlier declared the winner of the 18 March governorship election by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).

“I was not surprised because we all have seen what happened during the election. Secondly, people have been praying for our party seeking God’s intervention to get back our seat.”

On the decision of the NNPP to go to appeal, Ganduje said that’s the provision of democracy, promising that the ruling party would deliver its mandate in the state. “We thank the good people of Kano state and we assure them that we received their complaint and we will work towards addressing them. We thank them for exercising patience during this period.”

Ganduje further called on the people of the state to continue praying for peace and development, adding that APC has already laid the foundations of developmental projects in the state.
