‘Ganduje Siphoned N100bn LGs Funds,’ Incoming Kano Govt Claims

The outgoing Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has been accused of siphoning N100 billion local governments’ funds.

Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado, a member of the  Kano State‘s New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Asset Recovery Transition Committee, raised the issue during a town hall meeting in Kano.

This is coming at a time when the incoming administration and the outgoing government are at loggerheads regarding the transition.

Gado noted that documents recovered showed how the amount was siphoned from the Kano Local Government’s Treasury to personal accounts. However, the document are yet to be made available to the public.

“Official documents recovered clearly shows how N100 Billion was siphoned from the Kano Local Government’s Treasury to personal accounts, this is away from other similar diversions we have seen in the quest of our investigation,” he said.

Gado’s allegation came after the Chairman of NNPP Kano Gubernatorial Transition Committee, AB Baffa, urged that relevant information regarding Ganduje’s stewardship be revealed.
