The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Third Division of the Nigerian Army Jos, Major-General Ibrahim Salau Ali has challenged officers and men of the division to discharge their duties professionally.
The GOC stated this during the closing ceremony of the Division’s 2022 Corporal and Below Competition at the 33 Artillery Brigade, Shadawanka Barracks Bauchi.
He said that competition is in line with the strategy of Chief of Army Staff, Major-General Farouq Yahaya geared toward equipping personnel of the Nigerian Army with much-needed skills to combat contemporary challenges of insecurity in the country.
Major-General Ali said the competition is designed to train junior men of the army to instil on them leadership skills.
The GOC said that the army is working round the clock to take the war to the enclave of bandits and other criminals who are terrorizing innocent people of the northeast.
Major-General Ali commended Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed for supporting them any time the need arises saying it has motivated them to do more.
Speaking at the event, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed reiterated his government’s commitment to supporting the military in the fight against insurgency and other forms of insecurity.
