Gombe State Government and 10 of its 11 local government areas have received a combined ₦56.98 billion from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) between January and March 2026, data analysed by this newspaper shows.
The analysis indicates that the State Government alone received ₦37.9 billion within the three-month period, while the 10 LGAs got a combined ₦19.08 billion.
The figures were obtained from FAAC allocation data for the first quarter of 2026 published by BudgIT, a civic tech advocacy platform.
Breakdown of the state government allocation shows that Gombe received ₦13.16 billion in January, ₦13.39 billion in February, and ₦11.35 billion in March, bringing the total to ₦37.9 billion.
Among the listed LGAs, Akko received the highest allocation with ₦2.34 billion, followed by Gombe LGA with ₦2.06 billion and Yemaltu/Deba with ₦2.03 billion.
Funakaye received ₦1.93 billion, Dukku got ₦1.92 billion, while Balanga and Billiri received ₦1.84 billion and ₦1.83 billion respectively.
Kwami received ₦1.8 billion, Kaltungo got ₦1.68 billion, while Nafada received the least among the listed councils with ₦1.64 billion.
The combined total allocation for the listed LGAs stood at ₦19.08 billion.
However, allocation data for Shongom Local Government Area was not available in the records analysed, making it impossible to determine the full combined allocation for all 11 LGAs in the state during the period under review.
The data highlights the significant inflow of federal allocations into the state and local governments amid growing public concerns over infrastructure deficits, healthcare challenges, poor rural roads, and unemployment across many communities in Gombe State.
Analysts say the figures further raise questions about transparency, project implementation, and accountability in the management of public funds at both state and local government levels.
