Gombe 2024 Budget Will Focus on Infrasture, Socio-economic Factors — Official

Gombe State Commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Salihu Baba Alkali said the 2024 budget will focus on infrastructural development and socio-economic factors in the northeastern state.

Speaking to the reporter on Friday in his office, the Commissioner who was the immediate Executive Chairman of Board of Internal Revenue Service added that the views and comments of the stakeholders consultative meetings were captured in the budget.

The budget 2024, billed to be presented to the State House of Assembly next week, will take into consideration the 10-year State Development Plan (DEVAGOM) and other relevant policies.

The budget, he said, will keep track on revenue generation, Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) performance reporting and focus on their revenue mobilisation and other innovative state financing sources.

He added that the stakeholders meetings and discussions with MDAs were to ensure compliance with the budget and to critically evaluate all the necessary guidelines in line with government agenda and priorities in the 10-year Gombe State Developmental Plan (DEVAGOM).

The commissioner urged all stakeholders that they are going to work with the plan for the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) to feed the current budget, assuring the people that the 2024 budget will focus on revenue mobilisation to finance the budget proposal including other innovative state financing sources.
