Gombe gov suspends revenue board Chairman, others over low performance

Gombe state Governor, Alhaji Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya has suspended the chairman of the state Board of internal revenue, Salisu Adamu Dukku.

According to the governor the suspension of the chairman along side members and management of Board of Internal Revenue was due to their poor performances and alleged unprofessionalism in the conduct of their official responsibilities.

Governor Yahaya directed the affected officials to hand over the mantle of leadership to the senior personnel next to them pending the constitution of a new managing board in the state.

Our correspondent reports that, it was the first time the governor used his executive powers to punish erring officials of government since he came on board eight months ago.

Meanwhile, the Chairman, Salisu Adamu Dukku is to hand over the Affairs of the Board to Abubakar Inuwa Tata, Chairman, Fiscal Responsibility Commission who will take charge as administrator pending further action.

Equally, the chairman and the following members; Abubakar Magaji Difa, Ismail Ishaq  and Umar Shamaki Tula are to report to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government for further instructions.

In the same vein, the following Senior Management staff have been directed to hand over to their immediate subordinates and report to the office of the Head of Service for further instructions.

They are; Sadiq Abubakar Mohammed, head of department collection,
Sulaiman Adamu, head of department,  internal control and Mohammed Usman Bello who is the state motor registrar.
