Gombe Police Command Gets New Spokesperson

Usman Baba Alkali, the Inspector-General of Police IGP, has approved the posting of ASP Mahid Muazu as the new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Gombe State Police Command.


A press statement issued on Wednesday by ASP Muhammed Hashim Tunbade, said ASP Muazu took over from SP Obed Mary Malum which takes immediate effect.


The out-going SP Mary Malum who was the first female to be appointed as spokesperson of the command in 2017, is now posted to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the command.


ASP Mu’azu the new PPRO holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, commissioned into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) as an Assistant Superintendent of Police in December 2018.


He attended Combat Operation Course at the Police Mobile Force Training College and holds a Professional Certificate on Cyber Security Studies.


ASP Muazu was until his new appointment, a Divisional Crime Officer at the Gona Divisional Office in Akko Local Government Area of the state.


In the statement, the Command assured the people of the state, especially the media that the ASP Mu’azu will respond promptly to all inquiries on police activities in the state as his duty.
