Gombe Police Gets New Spokesperson

The Gombe state Police command has announced the appointment of a new public relations officer to serve the command.

As contained in a press release dated 22nd April, 2024 and signed by ASP Sharif Sa’ad, the newly appointed spokesperson ASP Buhari Abdullahi has assumed duty since. 

The statement read: “The Gombe State Police Command wishes to announce to the good people of Gombe State,  that ASP Buhari Abdullahi has assumed duty as the new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command. 

“ASP Buhari Abdullahi was born on 12th December, 1991 at Roni LGA of Jigawa state. He started his primary school education at Roni Arewa Primary School and got his first leaving school certificate in the year 2003. He proceeded to Government Unity Secondary School, Ringim where he obtained his Senior Secondary School Certificate SSCE in the year 2009. As a young aspiring police officer, ASP Buhari got admission into the prestigious Nigeria Police Academy as a member of Regular course 1 (2013) where he obtained his Bsc. In Sociology in the year 2017 and subsequently graduated in the year 2018 as an ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT OF POLICE.

“Before his recent appointment which was approved by the Inspector General of Police IGP Olukayode Egbetokun NPM PHD, he completed his one year compulsory attachment at Kakuri Divisional Headquarters, Kaduna Command 2019. Afterward, he was posted as DCO II at Kakuri Divisional Police Headquarters, Kaduna Command between 2020 -2022. Later, he was transferred to Railway Police Command Ebute-Metta, Lagos in the year 2022 and subsequently posted as O/C Surveillance at Rigasa Railway Divisional Police Headquarters, Kaduna between 2022 – 2024. Until his current appointment as PPRO of Gombe state command, he was the divisional crime officer DCO I at Rigasa Railway Divisional Police Headquarters, Kaduna.

“He has attended various courses few of which include; Combat Operation course  at Police Mobile Training College Ila-Orangun, Osun State, in Nigeria2018, United Nation Development Programme on Early Warning and Early Response (EWER) and Conflict Prevention in year 2020, International Security Organization Conference in November, 2021.

“As the new PPRO, ASP Buhari Abdullahi is committed to fostering transparency, accountability, and trust between the Police and the residents of Gombe State. He pledged to uphold the highest standards of professionalism in disseminating information to the Media and the Public, ensuring timely and accurate updates on Police activities, initiatives, and Community engagements.
