Gombe Teacher Asks Students to Bring Smartphones for ‘Biology Practical’, He Flees With Them

Kabiru Musa Nuhu, a newly employed teacher with Modibbo Idris Academy in Gombe State asked SS3 students of the school to bring smartphones for practical purposes. However, he ran away with the phones.

In a wanted person statement circulated by the school management, Nuhu who was teaching Biology in the school applied for the job a few days before “committing the crime.”

Abubakar Mohammed, the Director of the school told WikkiTimes that Nuhu was employed last Wednesday. According to him, Nuhu ran away with four phones on Friday morning.

“He told the students to bring their phones for academic practice,” the director said, adding only four students were able to come with phones.

Mohammed told WikkiTimes that Nuhu’s credentials have been submitted to the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant agencies for tracking.

In his application letter, Nuhu claimed to be a graduate of Bayero University Kano (BUK) where he “studied” Biology. However, his credentials obtained by WikkiTimes did not include that.

His primary certificate showed that he had his primary education at Hagagawa Special Primary School, Bichi in Kano State between 1992-1997. According to his credentials, he attended Kano Government College between 1998-2003.

The school’s director told WikkiTimes someone saw the culprit at a car park in Kano yesterday. “Someone called us that he saw him in a car park at Bichi, on his way to Kano,” said. “We instantly alerted the police in Kano, but they couldn’t make it to the park on time as a result of heavy rainfall.”

The director added that he received a similar call from someone who alleged to have seen him in Taraba State earlier today.

“We are not sure if he is the one, because the picture we have of him is on his credentials and it is black and white. But the securities are doing their best to locate him,” he added.
