The Gombe State Government has announced plans to establish a modern GSM Village at the former Gombe Line Terminus site.
Gombe State Chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Barrister Sani Ahmad Haruna made this known during a joint inspection with the head of Gombe State Urban Planning and Development Authority (GOSUPDA) at the project site.
According to him, the project is a joint venture with Gombe LG that would create generate thousands of jobs for young people and boost the state’s internally generated revenue.
The Chairman, who is also the Gombe LGA chairman, alongside other officials also visited Dadaleso mini terminus and New Mile 3 to assess relocation progress to the Ibrahim Dankwambo Mega Motor Park in Gombe metropolis.
The ALGON Chair commended the transport workers, drivers, and other related businesses for their cooperation in relocating to the Dankwambo Motor Park, acknowledging their sacrifices for the betterment of the general public.
“Though the relocation might temporarily disrupt your operations and businesses, it would ultimately bring significant benefits in the long run”, the chair was quoted by JewelTimes.
The team also visitied Pantami GSM Market where the Gombe LGA Chairman assured market traders of the local government’s collaboration with GOSUPDA to create more convenient business spaces.
The joint team also visited the Gombe LGA Shopping Complex and Abubakar Umar Stadium site to assess it suitability for a modern mechanic village, which would complement the Dankwambo Mega Motor Park.
