Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has promised to provide palliative to the victims of fire disaster that occurred on Thursday at the state’s popular market, Muda Lawal to mitigate their sufferings due to the loses they incurred during the incident.
Governor Bala made the pledge when he led security heads and other top government officials on a sympathy visit to the victims of the fire disaster.
Senator Bala Mohammed said the immediate palliative to be provided through the State Emergency Management Agency is to cushion the effects of the loses.
While sympathising with the victims of the inferno on behalf of the government of Bauchi state, the Governor appealed to them to consider the incident as an of God.
“On behalf of myself, the People and Government of Bauchi State we came to sympathize with you over this incident in our biggest Market in Bauchi State”, the governor said.
“There is nothing we can do to stop what happened here rather than to say we are being tested by the Almighty Allah.
The state government will make sure it cushion the effects of the loses by bringing palliative immediately”,he added.
On coronovirus, the governor enjoined Traders and Artisans Association to support the state government in its commitment to control and tackle its spread.
The Chairman of Muda Lawal market, Alhaji Bala Mai Kaji who welcomed the governor to the market, expressed gratitude to him for pledging to come to the aid of the victims.
According to him, so far 17 shops were affected with one record of death as a result of the inferno.
