Mai Mala Buni, Yobe State governor has on Tuesday flagged up the construction of Geidam township roads and drainages which he says was “part of the urban and rural development plan” of his administration.
The governor in a statement through his media aide, Mallam Isa Sanusi says the construction of the township roads when completed will enhance movement and promote economic development.

The statement quoted the governor as saying that the contractors handling the project will be closely monitored, “to ensure value for money for the people of Yobe state”, adding that contracts will be held to account in terms of standard and timely delivery.

“Let me use this opportunity to remind the contractors that there must be value for money in this project. You are advised to abide by the contractual terms and agreements to ensure quality work and timely completion of the project. Government would not accept any form of sub-standard work”, the statement read in part.
Gov. Buni swears in new Yobe chief judge
The statement argued that parts of the policy thrust of governor Buni was the provision of infrastructure, which is key to social and economic growth.
“More projects will be carried out in the areas of water, rural and urban electricity and sanitation. Roads and drainages hold a special place in infrastructural development of Yobe state”, the statement added.
The statement which argued that “the vision of Governor Mai Mala Buni is to accelerate rural and urban development through the provision of critical infrastructure”; listed some already completed projects to include; township roads and concrete drainages in Damagum, Fune LGA, township roads and concrete drainages in Buni Yadi, Gujba LGA, township roads and concrete drainages in Malammatari of Damaturu, township roads and concrete drainages in Jajimaji, Karasuwa LGA and township roads and concrete drainages in Babban gida, Tarmuwa LGA of the state.
