Governor Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state has declared the support and solidarity of the government and people of his state to the leadership of the new Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), praying Almighty God to guide them in carrying out the onerous task.
Governor Yahaya who stated yesterday in a congratulatory message in Gombe also commended, Malam Murtala Aliyu for emerging as the Secretary-General of the Northern Socio-Cultural Organization.
“As the new officials of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) takes over the affairs of the Northern Socio-Cultural Organization, the Gombe state Government wishes to identify with its illustrious son and a former Minister of state for Power, Malam Murtala Aliyu who is taking charge as the new Secretary-General of the forum”, he said.
Yahaya described the emergence of Aliyu as the Forum’s Secretary-General as timely and well deserved one, considering his vast knowledge and outstanding pedigree in both private and public service.
“Although, the new ACF leadership is coming at a trying period when the northern region is bedevilled with so many challenges, including insurgency, banditry, youths unemployment among other socio-economic issues, with people like Malam Murtala Aliyu and Audu Ogbe- led team, the forum now has all it takes to deliver on its mandate”, the Governor noted.
While pointing out that the position of Secretary-General is an important one that carries some degree of authority and influence, The Governor enjoined the new ACF scribe to bring to bear his wealth of experience and vast network to restore the glory and dignity of the forum and the northern region in general.
