Girls and Women Empowerment Network, a Minna-based NGO, has commended the Federal Government for its commitment to winning the war against banditry in the country. Founder of the NGO, Hajiya Maryam Mustapha, disclosed this on Saturday, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Minna.
Mustapha said that the Federal Government had so far shown enough political will in its commitment to address the security challenges in some parts of the country.
She said that the current bold moves by the government had no doubt began to yield the needed results, as there had been a sharp drop in the activities of bandits, especially, in the North-Western part of the country.
According to her, all Nigerians need to do is to collaborate with the relevant government agencies, in order fully curb crime and criminal activities, as the government alone cannot fight and win the war.
Mustapha therefore, called on Nigerians to provide the necessary intelligence to security agencies, to enable them do their work effectively. She appealed to citizens to share information on the activities and movement of hoodlums in their domain in order to stem the tide of insecurity in the country. (NAN)
