Gündoğan to Leave Barcelona for Man City Return

Manchester City could be set for a surprise reunion with midfielder Ilkay Gündoğan, who is reportedly seeking a return to the Etihad Stadium from Barcelona

As reported by Fabrizio Romano a veteran journalist states that City boss Pep Guardiola is open to a reunion with Gündoğan over the summer as the English giants have not made any signings in midfield.

Gündoğan, 33, has struggled to find consistent form at Barcelona since joining from Manchester City in the 2023 summer transfer window, making 50 official appearances for the Catalan giants registering 5 goals and 14 assists.

While negotiations are still in the early stages, a potential reunion between Gündoğan and Manchester City could be a major coup for the Premier League champions as they look to strengthen their squad for the new season.

Some claims have shown that Barcelona’s financial situation appears to be a key for the German’s potential exit. As the Catalans are yet to register their new signing Dani Olmo, and the German’s sale may allow them to register the Spaniard.
