Gunmen have abducted Dr. Emmanuel Barki, the acting Rector of Benue State Polytechnic Ugbokolo , along with several members of the institution and their driver.
The abduction occurred as they were returning to Ugbokolo after an official trip to Makurdi.
According to Mr. Sewuese Anene, the Police Command’s Public Relations Officer in Benue, the victims were taken into the bush while their vehicle was left abandoned on the highway.
Chief Joseph Har, the Governor’s Adviser on Internal Security, confirmed that security forces are actively engaged in efforts to secure the safe release of the kidnapped individuals.
