Gunmen Attack Plateau Village, Kill Monarch’s son, Abduct Wife  

Bandits in the wee hours of Sunday, raided Angwan Baraya village under Mangu local council area of Plateau State, killing the son of the village head and abducting his wife.

During the invasion, Baba Yarima Jabi, the village head also sustained a gunshot injury. He would later be rushed to a nearby hospital, according to locals.

“Our village in Pyam chiefdom of Mangu council, has been hit with tragedy as heavily armed bandits last night attacked the leader of Angwan Baraya village, Jannaret Ward, Baba Yarima Jabil,” he said.

“The gunmen raided his residence during midnight and shot the community leader. They operated unchallenged in the village, the source added. “Jabil was immediately rushed to hospital in the village but his son, Chamsan could not survive the bullet wound and died instantly.”

He added: “Two women including the village’s wife were also whisked away by the gunmen and their whereabouts are untraced now. The village’s head’s son had been buried.”

WikkiTimes learnt that security men arrived at the scene late. However, the spokesman for the Plateau State Police Command, Alabo Alfred, was not available for comment. At press time, he did not respond to a message sent by WikkiTimes.
