Gunmen Invade Palace, Abduct Nasarawa First Class Emir, Wife

Gun-wielding terrorists, yesterday night, invaded the Palace of Chief of Gurku Town, Jibrin Mohammed, kidnapping him and his wife.

Even though details of the incident were sketchy as at press time, WikkiTimes learnt that the gunmen invaded the palace around 10:pm on Sunday and whisked away the royalties.

Ramhan Nansel, the spokesperson for Nasarawa Police Command confirmed the incident to WikkiTimes, saying the victims were taken away from their residence at Gurku, off Abuja-Keffi highway.

“On 6th August around 10 pm, a distress call was received by the Nasarawa State Police Command that the Palace of Chief of Gurku town, located 10km away from Mararraba main town, the mountainous area was invaded by men suspected to be kidnappers.

“Upon receipt of the information, the Commissioner of Police deployed a combined team of police operatives in collaboration with vigilantes to the scene. Upon arrival it was discovered that the chief and his wife were abducted,” he said.

The spokesman further said the surrounding bushes and mountains were combed up by the police but all efforts to apprehend the culprits and rescue the traditional ruler were not successful.

He added that additional tactical teams and anti-kidnapping operatives were further deployed in an effort to rescue the paramount ruler and his wife unhurt.
