Gunmen have attacked Unguwar Isiyaka and Ya Tafki communities in Funtua local council of Katsina State, killing three people and abducting seven others.
The coordinated attacks, according to locals, were carried out on Tuesday morning
A local source in Unguwar Isiyaka, revealed that the brazen gunmen killed three victims and whisked away four others, including a village head.

Accordingly, the school principal of a secondary school in Makera including a nursing mother and her baby were abducted by the assailants in Yar Tafki village.
A resident who craved anonymity said, “in the early morning of Tuesday, gunmen in large groups besieged Yar Tafki village and began shooting indiscriminately.”
Also during the raid, “the gunmen abducted Yahaya Magaji, the school principal of Government Secondary School, Makera, a nursing mother, Marakisuya Yakubu, and her 17-month-old baby, Bilkisu Yakubu abducted.
“At Unguwar Isiyaka village, three men were killed by the terrorists and four others have been kidnapped, including the Mai Unguwa (village head).”

The Police spokesman in the state, Gambo Isha was not available for comment. At press time, a text sent to him has not been responded to.
