In a statement signed by the director of information and public relations in the office of the governor, Makut Simon Macham, Lalong expressed his concern over the frequent attacks including destruction of farms, cattle rustling and vandalism of other property in the area.

According to Lalong, the government would not allow criminals to kill people for no reason and go free.

VOA Hausa quoted the village head of Kuba, Mabas Kuba, saying the residents in the area need the presence of security operatives for the restoration of peace.

Alhaji Hassan Mongyaldi, the deputy chairman of the Herder/Farmer Reconciliation Committee in the area noted that two herders were murdered in the attack. He explained that one of them was a commercial motorcyclist.

It is gathered that the Commander of the Special Task Force, Major General Ibrahim Ali, visited the area and also ordered security forces to arrest the culprits to face the law. General Ali however, urged the residents to avoid taking the law into their hands.
