Gunmen Storm Plateau Community, Kill Five, Abduct One

Unknown gunmen have stormed Fobur community of Jos East local government of Plateau, killing five persons and abducting one other person.

WikkiTimes gathered the attackers and attacked the community in the wee hours of Friday night. They fired Ak47 rifles unopposed for hours before they slipped into neighbouring Fusa community where they abducted one Haruna Ajik.

Reports indicate that three victims of the gunmen were killed in Fobur while two others in Naton, another community that’s a few kilometres away from Fobur.

The  Police Public Relations Officer  (PPRO) of the Plateau State Command, Alabo Alfred, confirmed the incident, saying that the police were alerted after the gunmen had perpetrated the act and escaped.

He explained that the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area immediately alerted other security agencies, including Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), adding that security had been beefed up in the area.

Fobur, Fusa and Naton are Izere communities of Jos East local government known to be peaceful even in the face of ethno-religious crisis that Plateau State grappled with for more than a decade.
