Hon Kani Abubakar Faggo, another shining star

by Isyaka Laminu Badamasi

In my continued analyses on the stewardship of our elected officials, especially the assembly members in both the state and national levels, my searchlight this week was beamed on Honourable Kani Abubakar Faggo, member representing Giade/Shira federal constituency of Bauchi state.

The name Kani Faggo is a household name in the Bauchi state political scene, considering his antecedents, especially in the public service before joining real politics, where he is now a parliamentarian at the green chamber.

The analyses is for the people to see how they are been represented by their representatives in terms of legislative work, oversight functions and the provision of numerous dividends of democracy.

The piece is also meant to let the people know how they are been carried along in their respective constituencies in the areas of education, health, water and sanitation, agriculture, human empowerment as well as employment opportunities, to mention but a few.

Like other serious Parliamentarians at the green chamber, who have their constituents at heart, in a document obtained from his constituency office, Hon Kani Faggo is not a bench warmer as we fondly called non performing members. From the inauguration of the 9th assembly to date, Hon Kani Faggo has presented a number of bills and motions that have direct impact on the lives of his constituents and the country at large.

These motions includes:

Giade/Shira federal constituency is one among the very few constituencies in the state that are lucky, as they have a man who is serious in the representation of his  people unlike others who are primordially acting like a novice, ‘globetrotting’ from Abuja to Bauchi, those who find it very difficult to even copy from their colleagues, those who, instead of investing in human capital development have resorted wasteful ventures with the meager resources expected to be used in changing the lives of their constituents.
