Ballot boxes in Rimin Gado local government area of Kano State were destroyed by hoodlums.
Witnesses claim that around 10 ballot boxes were destroyed in various polling units in the area.
The disruption occurred when voting was progressing peacefully, and unidentified thugs suddenly attacked.
Officials from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) who were delivering some ballot boxes to the INEC office at Rimingado, narrowly escaped being lynched.
The affected polling units include Dugurawa, Jujin Kosau, Jili, Yelwa, and Kongi, all situated in Rimin Gado LG.
