President Muhammadu Buhari has unveiled Forty-eight units of 2-bedroom bungalows, Twenty- four units of 3- bedroom bungalows and four units of 1-bedroom bungalow totaling seventy – six housing units in Kano state.
Represented by the Minister of Defence, Maj Gen Bashir Salihi Magashi Magashi, at the Official Commissioning of phase 1 of the National Housing Programme (NHP) in Gama-Gwari off Jaba-Fanisau, Buhari said the gesture is part of federal government’s commitment to mitigating the housing deficit in the Country towards improving the living standards of the citizenry.
He said the housing estate is an example of the fulfillment of the promise of change, adding that the government’s economic policies and investment in infrastructure such as the National Housing Programme will impact positively on Nigerians.
The representative of the Minister of Works and Housing Solomon Labafilo who is the Director Public Building and Housing Development and the representative of the Permanent Secretary Emmanuel Hangeior said the housing units have members of the public as beneficiaries.
