How do You Feel Visiting Your Children in Universities Abroad While ASUU Is On Strike? Ahmed Musa Tackles Nigerian Leaders

Ahmed Musa, Super Eagles Captain, has queried the commitment of Nigerian political leaders to end the lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU while they continue to visit their children studying in foreign universities while Nigerian Students continue to be at home.

Since February, ASUU closed the nation’s university classrooms following the inability of the Federal Government to meet its demands for an improved working condition coupled with the provision of state-of-the-art facilities and an improved salary package for the striking lecturers as contained in the agreement that the union reached with the Federal Government in 2009.

Ahmed Musa, who is currently Nigeria’s most capped player, in a post on his Instagram account on Tuesday, wrote, “To our political office holders whose children school abroad. How do you feel visiting your children abroad, taking pictures in their schools, and posting online while ASUU is on strike?

“Like seriously, how is it ok to you? You’re running a system that you don’t even believe in. Show me one Oyibo leader whose child is schooling in Nigeria.

“E no day touch una? And when you return Nigerian youths will still gather and sing praises for una.[sic]”

Ahmed Musa’s post is coming after pictures of the graduation of Rivers State Governor’s son from a UK university flourished on social media.
