The incumbent Governor of Bauchi State and candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bala Mohammed, has pledged to honour the result of the ongoing governorship election in the state.
Following the smooth voting process at his polling unit in Yelwa Duguri, Alkaleri local government area, Mohammed commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their efforts. He expressed satisfaction with the peaceful and orderly conduct of the exercise, regardless of whether electronic or manual voting was employed.
The Governor acknowledged the high turnout of voters in the area and expressed his gratitude to the electorate. Although he refrained from predicting the outcome of the election, he acknowledged that a large turnout could increase his chances of winning.
Mohammed also observed that the exercise was conducted without acrimony or conflict, and hoped that similar peaceful processes would be adopted throughout the country. He reaffirmed his commitment to accept the outcome of the election and work towards maintaining peace and stability in the state.
