I’m Not A Spy In APC– Bauchi Speaker Reacts

Hon Abubakar Sulaiman, Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, has said that he is not a spy in the All Progressives Congress, APC as some party stalwarts are insinuating.

Speaker Sulaiman stated while responding to allegations raised by some  Bauchi APC stalwarts who labeled him as a spy for the ruling People’s Democratic Party within the APC.

The Speaker in a statement signed by his Spokesperson Abdul Ahmed Burra said he has become a key decision-maker within the ambit of the APC in Bauchi State over the years he has been in the party.

He said that he was surprised that Hon Farouk Mustapha, former Bauchi North Senatorial candidate, who is yet to fully decipher the workings and processes of the APC in the state to have insinuated him as is a spy for PDP.

Hon Sulaiman said his conscience and loyalty to the APC is comparable to none and he “will never stand so low to become a spy or an informant of someone in the party in which he is loyal member, pillar and bridge-builder.”

“While I will not betray the respect and friendly disposition I have for Hon. Farouk Mustapha by joining issues with him, I hoped that the former NNPP stalwart will control and stabilize his political speed especially with regard to his new party affairs,” the statement read in part.

On boycotting party meetings and other activities allegation, the Speaker said that he has been attending the party’s functions from local government level up to national level.

He said the “libelous” allegations deliberate calculated attempts to lower his estimation in the minds of right-thinking members of the society born out of mischief embryotic political interest.
