WikkiTimes recalls that on the 6th of September, 2019 during a swearing in ceremony for the 20 appointed commissioners, Governor Bala mandated them to flush out ghost workers in their ministries.

The governor who announced the discovery of ghost workers in the state was quoted as saying that most of the ghost workers in the state were under the payroll of local governments.

In recent times, the state Head of Civil Service announcedthat over 41,000 civil servants from different MDAs may lose October salarydue to their inability to have Bank Verification Number linked to their salaryaccounts, an indication that suggest the state has many ghost workers cartingaway billions of naira in salary.

Dr. Aminu Gamawa says his ministry being the smallest in the state was yet to discover such ghost workers, adding that the state governor will keep the public posted after the verification exercise.
