The aspirant for the post of National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Ahmad Lawan has raised the alarm that the imposition of Architect Waziri Bulama by the National Chairman of the Party, Comrade Adams Oshiomole will further tear the party apart.

Alhaji Lawan who made a move to fill the vacant office of the National Secretary of the party accused the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party for taking a lopsided decision that is causing disharmony among party members.
“Our party need to be wary of taking decisions that is capable of disuniting us as members. It was the same lack of internal democracy that led to the present comatose state of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that is now struggling to survive the consequence what it did to itself.” Lawan recalled.
“What I think should be done is that, a well structured process of elections should be held to fill the vacant office of the Secretary of our party or wide consultation should be made to bring out a consensus party National Secretary for the party and not through undemocratic means.” He suggested
The APC national secretary hopeful while faulting the party’s NWC for given the office on acting capacity to somebody outside the them pointed out that: “if it were to be given at that level, the assistant secretary should have been the person to occupy the office been a member of NWC.”
He argued that that the decision to give the post of the National Secretary of the APC to someone who is not a member of National Working Committee was done in error and therefore, undemocratic.
“I’m a candidate vying for this post that I need to be consulted before decision of this magnitude should be taken. All of us in the entire North East whose slot of the office is shared to us are to decide with the NWC of who becomes the next party national Secretary.
”Moreover, I don’t think Bulama is capable of holding that office hence his imposition is dividing us more in the party than uniting us, his coming is bringing in serious crisis than ever.” Lawal further stated.
Lawal who appealed to stakeholders to mediate on the issue with a view to rectifying the problem noted that it is capable of plundering the party into a more disastrous outing in 2023 when it will finally ship-wrecked.
